Chronicle of Hazrat Yusaf A. S

    CHRONICLE OF HAZRAT YUSAF(A.S)

   "IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE MOST MERCIFUL,                         THE MOST BENEFICENT"

This Chronicle of Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) is mention in Quran, in Surah Yusaf. This was revealed during the last stage of the Muhammad(SAWW) residence at Makkah, when Quraish was considering the question of killing or imprisoning him. Some of the unbelievers put this question to test him "Why did Israelites go to Egypt?" they expected that he would not be able to answer them but the tables were turned on them, because Allah revealed the whole story of Hazrat Yusaf (A.S).

Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) said to his father "O my father, Indeed I have seen in a dream eleven stars, sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating to me". Hazrat Yaqoob (A.S) told him that not informed about this dream to your brothers, they would contrive against him a plan. 

Yusaf's brothers thought that Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) and his brother were more beloved to their father(Yaqoob), while we were a clan. They decided to kill Yusaf or cast him out to another land, the countenance of their father would then be only for them. After that they would became a righteous people. One of the speaker among them said that not kill yusaf but threw him in the well, some travellers would pick him up. Hazrat Yusaf's (A.S) brother told his father that tomorrow sent Yusaf with them, so that he could eat and played well. Hazrat Yaqoob (A.S) was worried about sending him with their brother and fear that might be wolf would eat him.

Their brothers did the same what they decided, they threw him in the well and return to thier father at night and weeping. Their excuses was that they were racing with each other and left Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) with possessions, and wolf ate him. They were unaware. They brought the false shirts which was filled with blood and Hazrat Yaqoob(A.S) told him, "Allah is the one sought for help which you describe".

When the travellers came and let their bucket down into the well they found Hazrat Yusaf (A.S). And in joy they said"he is a boy". They thought that they could take him as merchandise. They sold him in a few dirhams. A person from the Egypt bought him and said to his wife that made his residence comfortable. He would benefit them. We would adapt him as a son.

When Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) reached maturity Allah gave him judgement and knowledge. One day, the woman in whose house Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) was resident. She sought to seduce him and said "come". Hazrat Yusaf (A. S) said " Allah is my master, he made good my residence and indeed wrongdoer would not succeed". Both ran toward the door and woman tore his shirt from the back. And his husband was on the door. His husband was shocked. People said that if the shirt was tore from the front then Yusaf would be a liar. But if the shirt was tore from the back, then his wife would be a liar. Women in the city started speaking that she had seduced Hazrat Yusaf (A.S). She invited all the women of the city in the banquet and invited Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) to came in front of them and she gave knife in the hands of all the women. When yusaf came, all the women cut their hand. And said "Perfect Allah! this is not a man; this is none but a noble angel". She told all the women that they were blaming her for this reason. She tried to seduce him and everytime he went out of her hands. 

When Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) saw the women's this act. He prayed Allah that prison would be better than this and if Allah didn't saved him then he could got inclined toward them and he would then be the ignorant. Allah fulfilled his prayer. As Allah is all knowing and all hearing. Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) sent jail with two other young men. Both of them said Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) that they had a dream, one of them said that he saw a dream that he was pressing wine. And other saw that he was carrying bread on his head and from which the birds were eating. They were asking yusaf because he looked good to them. 

Interpretation of dreams by Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) were from Allah. He left the religion of people who did not believe in Allah. He had followed the religion of his fathers Ibrahim, Issac, yaqoob. And it was not for them to associate anything with Allah. He told the interpretation of dreams, one would drank wine to his king. And the other would be hanged and the birds would ate from his head. Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) knew that one of them would be freed from jail. He told him that after freeing from jail must told the king about him. But unfortunately after freeing he forgot. He remained in jail for many years. 

The king said"I had seen in a dream that seven fat cows being eaten by seven lean cow and seven green spikes and seven were dry" he told the people that if anyone could told him the interpretation of dream. 

The same man who were imprisoned remembered about the Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) and told the king about him. And the Hazrat Yusaf (A.S) interpret all his dream and said  "they would plant for seven years consecutively and what you harvest would leave it in its spikes except a little from which they ate". And "Then would come after seven year in which you would consume which you saved for them except a little from which you would store ". 

The king said that brought Yusaf (A.S) to him, but the Yusaf (A.S) said that returned to the king and asked him what was the case of the woman. The woman and all the people spoke on the side of Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) that he was true at that time. King said that brought Yusaf(A.S) to him. King wanted to appoint and gave position with him. Yusaf said that appoint me over the store houses of the land. Hazrat Yusaf's (A.S) brothers came for seeking food and didnot recognised him, but Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) recognised him and denied to gave supplies and said that brought his brother with him then he would give food to them. 

Yusaf told their servant that put the merchandise of their brothers into their baggage. So that when they went home they would recognised it and would return. When they returned home, they told their father that they would not give them supplies until they brought with them their brother. Hazrat Yaqoob(A.S) said that how should he entrust them as he entrusted them before with their brother Hazrat Yusaf(A.S).

They opened the baggage they found their merchandise and they said that they would protect their brother and obtained the supplies with an increased of a camel's load. Hazrat Yaqoob(A.S) made them promised that whatever would happened they must brought their brother with them. When they reached to Hazrat Yusaf(A.S), he told his brother that he was his brother. When his brother was going back, Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) told his servant to put the bowl in the baggage of his brother. People started finding the bowl as Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) told them. When they checked the belongings of Hazrat Yusaf's brother, they found the bowl. Hazrat Yusaf's told them that they could not take his brother with them and he would stay with him. But they said that not took him, instead one of them could stay with him because his father wouldnot bear the pain of his son. But Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) refused. When they went back and told the whole story to his father. Hazrat Yaqoob(A.S) said that brought Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) and his brother with them. 

Hazrat Yaqoob's (A.S) eyes got white due to the sorrow of Hazrat Yusaf(A.S). When Hazrat Yusaf's (A.S) brothers reached to him and told him that returned his brother. Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) told them had they forgotten what they did with Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) and his brother? They got shocked and said"Are you Yusaf". Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) gave his shirt and told his brother to place this shirt on to the face of Hazrat Yaqoob(A.S) and brought his parents to him. They did the same. Hazrat Yaqoob(A.S) started seeing again. They brought his parents to Hazrat Yusaf(A.S). His brothers asked forgiveness from his parents and Hazrat Yusaf (A.S). Yaqoob said that asked forgiveness from Allah, who is the most forgiving, the most merciful. Hazrat Yusaf(A.S) raised his parents to the throne, they bowed to him. And said that this was the explanation of his dream.

There was certainly in this story a lesson for those who understand. Quran narration is a detailed explanation of all the things and a guidance and mercy for all who believes. 

There are many lessons from surah yusaf which are:

1. About Jealousy:

He said, “O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy. – Surah Yusuf, verse 5. 

2. Be patient and keep faith in Allah:

He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from Bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. – Surah Yusuf, verse 100. 

3. Forgive. Allah like the forgiveness:

He said, “No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you, and He is the most merciful of the merciful.” – Surah Yusuf, verse 92. 

4. Save yourself from the sins with your own strength:

He said, “No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you, and He is the most merciful of the merciful.” – Surah Yusuf, verse 92. 

5. It is better to face hardships then disobeying Allah:

He said, “My Lord, prison is more to my liking than that to which they invite me. And if You do not avert from me their plan, I might incline toward them and [thus] be of the ignorant.” – Surah Yusuf, verse 33.
